PROJECT: Combined DOT Meeting for two projects: River View Road and Floyd Road
DATE: Thursday, January 24, 2013
TIME: 5:00pm-7:00pm
LOCATION: South Cobb Community Center, 620 Lions Club Dr., Mableton, GA  30126

River View Road Safety and Operational Improvements project:
These improvements are a component of the 2011 1% Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) program.  The project consists of safety and operational improvements to River View Road, from Veterans Memorial Hwy to Nichols Dr.  The 0.6 mile project limit includes turn lanes at key intersections, sidewalk, improved alignment at the intersection with Veterans Memorial Hwy.  Bike lanes will be evaluated. The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with an opportunity to view the proposed improvements and to express their interest and concerns about the proposed project.

The meeting will be conducted between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.  The public is invited to attend anytime during these hours to review the proposed plans for this project.  There will be no formal presentation. Written statements will be accepted concerning this project until February 7, 2013.  All comments will be presented to the Cobb County Board of Commissioners for their consideration regarding this project.

Floyd Road Safety and Operational Improvements project:
These improvements are a component of the 2011 1% Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) program. The project consists of widening Floyd Road, from just south of Veterans Memorial Hwy to Clay Rd, to four lanes with a divided median, dual left turn lanes from Floyd Rd on to Veterans Memorial Hwy. Traffic signal upgrades will be required. The purpose of this meeting is to provide the public with an opportunity to view the proposed improvements and to express their interest and concerns about the proposed project.

The meeting will be conducted between the hours of 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m.  The public is invited to attend anytime during these hours to review the proposed plans for this project.  There will be no formal presentation. Written statements will be accepted concerning this project until February 7, 2013.  All comments will be presented to the Cobb County Board of Commissioners for their consideration regarding this project.

PROJECT: Lower Roswell Road Safety and Operational Improvements, Project No. E6020
DATE: Tuesday, January 8, 2013
TIME: 5:00pm-7:00pm
LOCATION: East Cobb Library, 4880 Lower Roswell Road, Suite 510-B, Marietta, GA

These improvements are a part of the 2011 Special Local Option Sales Tax program. The project will improve or add 11 foot through lanes and two-way left turn lanes, add a raised median in certain locations and bicycle lanes, replace existing sidewalks and add 10 foot lanes on a proposed frontage road connecting the existing intersection at Davidson Road.

The open house will provide the public an opportunity to view proposed improvements and express interest and concerns about the proposed project. People are invited to attend anytime during the hours of 5 to 7 p.m. to review plans.

There will be no formal presentation. Written statements will be accepted until Jan. 22 and may be submitted to bryan.ricks@cobbcounty.org. All comments will be presented to the Cobb Board of Commissioners.

PROJECT: Pine Mountain Road Upgrades
DATE: Thursday, December 6, 2012
TIME: 6:00pm-8:00pm
LOCATION: Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive, Kennesaw

Cobb Department of Transportation and City of Kennesaw staff will host a public information open house for Pine Mountain Road safety and operational improvements 6-8 p.m., Dec. 6. Residents will have the opportunity to view proposed improvements and express their opinions. There will be no formal presentation. The meeting will be held at Ben Robertson Community Center, 2753 Watts Drive, Kennesaw. These improvements are a part of the 2011 voter-approved Special Local Option Sales Tax program.

The Pine Mountain Road project, from Stilesboro Road to Shilling Road, includes widening to standard lane widths, turn lanes were warranted, curb, gutter, drainage and sidewalk. This portion will be constructed by Cobb County. Pine Mountain Road, from Shilling Road to Cobb Parkway, includes turn lanes, bridge replacement, stormwater improvements, curb, gutter, sidewalk, intersection upgrades and signal at Shilling/Ellis Road. Entrance upgrades at Smith-Gilbert Gardens will also be included. This portion of the project will be constructed by the City of Kennesaw.

PROJECT: Windy Hill Road East and West Thoroughfare Improvements - Projects Nos. E4020/E4030
DATE: Thursday, October 25, 2012
TIME: 5:00pm-7:00pm
LOCATION: Cobb Chamber, 240 Interstate North Parkway, Atlanta, 30339

Open House Forum for the public to express their interest and concerns regarding the proposed projects.

These improvements are a component of the 2011 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST) program.  The projects consist of thoroughfare improvements on Windy Hill Road from Powers Ferry Road to Cobb Parkway. The 1.5 mile project limit includes widening, access management, drainage design where applicable, and possible retaining wall design.

PROJECT: Six Flags LCI Study

Over the last four months, Cobb County DOT has heard the concerns of community residents, property owners, businesses and institutions with a vested interest in the revitalization of Six Flags Drive.

The Six Flags Livable Centers Initiative planning team has taken the development, infrastructure, employment and economic development issues, incorportated the community's vision along with the market realities and developed a comprehensive revitalization for the area.

At the February 2nd meeting, the recommendations will be presented to the general public for comment. Your input is vital!
