Mini-Buses on Routes 65 and 70
Attention route 65 and 70 passengers. Beginning on Monday, January 4, 2010 CCT will be operating mini-buses on routes 65 and 70. The destination signs on the front of the bus will clearly note the route number. CCT will operate the mini-buses on routes 65 and 70 for approximately 8 weeks while we wait for the delivery of 6 new large buses. Thank you and we apologize for the inconvenience.
Route 45 Detour
Beginning on January 18, Big Shanty Road between Chastain Meadows Parkway and Busbee Parkway will be closed until Feb. 1. This road closure will cause a detour for the route 45. Route 45 will switch to its standard Saturday routing. The bus will take Chastain Meadows Parkway to Barrett Parkway. It will then turn onto Busbee Parkway to the Town Center Mall entrance.
The bus stops along Busbee Parkway that would normally be serviced by the route 45 will continue to be serviced by the route 40. The two bus stops on Big Shanty Road in front of the Georgia Department of Labor will not be serviced during this detour. Passengers traveling to and from the Department of Labor should use the route 40 on Busbee Parkway.
Renovated park and ride lot opens in Acworth
County leaders recently cut the ribbon for the Cobb Community Transit's newly-expanded Acworth Park and Ride Lot. About 80 percent of the $2.3 million construction cost was paid for through federal grants and another 10 percent was paid for by state grants. The project, which expanded the lot from 274 parking spaces to 496 spaces, also included additional lighting and a covered passenger waiting area.
