The Six Flags Livable Centers Initiative DRAFT Study is available for viewing and public comment. DOT received comments on the DRAFT Study at an Open House on April 12th at 6:00pm and the DRAFT Plan will be on display April 1st-April 30th.

Project Handout PROJECT: Six Flags LCI Study Over the last four months, Cobb County DOT has heard the concerns of community residents, property owners, businesses and institutions with a vested interest in the revitalization of Six Flags Drive. The Six Flags Livable Centers Initiative planning team has taken the development, infrastructure, employment and economic development issues, incorportated the community's vision along with the market realities and developed a comprehensive revitalization for the area. At the February 2nd meeting, the recommendations will be presented to the general public for comment. Your input is vital!
PROJECT: Connect Cobb Kick Off Meeting
PROJECT: Widening of Cedarcrest Road (Cobb Paulding 007529 Cedarcrest Road On November 15, 2011 the Cobb County Department of Transportation will hold a Public Hearing Open House concerning proposed improvements to Cedarcrest Road in Cobb and Paulding Counties. The Open House will be held from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Allatoona High School, 3300 Dallas Acworth Highway, Acworth, Georgia 30101. The purpose of this Open House is to provide the public with an opportunity to view the proposed project, ask questions, and comment on the proposal. The Open House will be informal and the public is invited to attend anytime during these hours. There will be no formal presentation. A court reporter will be available during this time to allow the public an opportunity to make comments about the project. These comments will be included in the transcript of the Open House. Cedarcrest Road is a roadway that connects US 41/Cobb Parkway Northwest (US 41) in Cobb County with Dallas Acworth Highway (SR 381), becoming Hiram Acworth Highway (SR 92) at the Cross Roads community of Paulding County. This project’s study area encompasses the portion of Cedarcrest Road with a variable typical section, beginning at Cedarcrest Road’s intersection with Harmony Grove Church Road, approximately 2.6 miles north/west of the intersection of Cedarcrest Road and SR 92. The proposed improvements would continue northeast to the intersection of Cedarcrest Road with Governors Towne Drive, approximately 0.30 mile west of the intersection of Cedarcrest Road and US 41. DATE: Tuesday, February 15, 2011 Project CSCMQ-0009-00(211) P.I. No. 0009211 consists of intersection operational improvements at the intersection of South Cobb Drive/SR 280 at Austell Road/SR 5 in central Cobb County. The project would realign Austell Road slightly north of its current location and construct an additional dedicated left-turn lane on the eastbound approach to South Cobb Drive/SR 280. The proposed typical section along South Cobb Drive/SR 280 would be two 12-foot through lanes (each direction), one 14-foot two-way left-turn lane which converts to a left-turn lane for each approach, one 12-foot right-turn lane for the northbound approach, one 12-foot right-turn lane for the southbound approach, curb-and-gutter, 5-foot minimum width sidewalks. The proposed typical section along Austell Road/SR 5 consists of two 11-foot left turn lanes, one 11-foot through lane (eastbound), two 11-foot through lanes (westbound), and one existing 12-foot right turn lane. The total proposed project length is approximately 0.29 mile on Austell Road and 0.09 mile on South Cobb Drive. Click here to view: PROJECT: Results of the design charettes conducted as part of the Cumberland Transit Oriented Development (TOD) study DATE: Thursday, February 10, 2011 The Cobb County Department of Transportation, in coordination with the Cumberland Community Improvement District (CID) hosted a public meeting from 6:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the Cobb County Chamber of Commerce located at 240 Interstate North Parkway, Atlanta, GA 30339. The purpose of this meeting was to present the results of the design charrettes conducted as part of the Cumberland Transit Oriented Development (TOD) study, which is currently underway. A variety of maps, plans and other project information were available for review. A brief presentation, including an overview of the project, was followed by an open house where participants reviewed the TOD plans and provided input to the design team.
